A Time When You Were Able To Help Someone Or Make A Positive Impact

This course is available as a live online group experience for up to 20 participants, or as private one on one online training for personalized support. All sessions are delivered via Zoom, allowing learners to join from anywhere while still benefiting from interactive practice, real conversations, and guided feedback in a comfortable online environment.

Module 1 – Setting the Context, The Moment You Chose to Help
  • Who Did You Help In This One Story? – A friend, colleague, family member, stranger, customer, neighbor—what was your connection, if any, in this situation?
  • Where And When Did It Happen? – At work, on the street, online, during travel, in school—time, place, and situation for this single event.
  • What Was Happening Before You Stepped In? – A problem, confusion, stress, danger, sadness, awkwardness, or a practical need in that exact moment.
  • Why Was Help Needed Right Then? – They were stuck, alone, overwhelmed, lost, embarrassed, or in real trouble in this particular scene.
  • Why Does This Moment Still Matter To You? – It changed someone’s day, changed your view of yourself, or changed how you see others.
  • How Did You Realize Help Was Needed In This Story? – Words they used, silence, body language, facial expression, tone, or an obvious problem (lost, crying, confused).
  • Signs That This Person Needed Support – Avoiding eye contact, looking around, frozen, angry, overwhelmed, asking unclear questions at that time.
  • Asking Questions Vs Making Assumptions In This Case – Checking gently what they needed, instead of deciding for them.
  • Language For Offering Help Politely And Safely – Being kind without being pushy or intrusive in this specific context.
  • What Did You Do To Help—Exactly—In This Story? – Practical help, emotional support, translating, explaining, defending, guiding, solving a problem.
  • Small Actions Vs Big Actions In This Case – Was it just listening or a small favor, or major support and real responsibility in this one situation?
  • Challenges You Faced While Helping Here – Time limits, language barrier, your own fear, other people’s reactions, lack of knowledge.
  • Did You Work Alone Or With Others In This Moment? – Did you coordinate, delegate, or ask someone else to step in?
  • How Did Your Actions Help, In Real Terms, In This Story? – Solved a problem? Avoided something bad? Made them feel seen or less alone? Opened a door?
  • Immediate Vs Long‑Term Impact Of This One Action – Right away: relief, safety, clarity, comfort. Later: a decision, a habit, a relationship, a change in confidence—for them or for you.
  • The Other Person’s Emotional Response In That Moment – Gratitude, surprise, tears, quiet thank you, apology, smile, or they disappeared—but you still know it mattered.
  • How The Situation Changed Because You Helped – From chaos to calm, confusion to clarity, isolation to support.
  • How Did Helping Make You Feel In This Moment? – Proud, humble, useful, surprised, emotional, connected, responsible.
  • What Did You Learn About Yourself Through This One Story? – That you are braver, kinder, more patient, more resourceful than you thought—or that you want to be.
  • Empathy, Confidence, And Identity From This Experience – Did this moment change how you see other people’s struggles—or your own abilities?
  • Would You Act Differently Now In A Similar Situation? – Do you see ways you could have helped better, set better boundaries, or taken care of yourself more?
  • Why Small Actions Still Matter, As Your Story Shows – A smile, a translation, a question, a seat, a message—things that feel small but are huge in a hard day.
  • Practical Advice For Helping Others Based On This Event – Look, listen, ask, don’t assume, respect boundaries, be specific in your offer.
  • Cultural Differences In Offering Help Visible In Your Story – When help is welcomed vs when it feels like interference; direct offers vs indirect hints.
  • Making Kindness Part Of Daily Life – Tiny habits: one helpful action per day, one supportive message per week, one “How are you really?” conversation.
  • Helping Without Expecting A Reward In This Story – No guarantee of thanks, return favor, or recognition—but still feeling it was worth it.
